Level 1 Recap!

In case you missed it, this past Saturday we finished off our first ever Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting Course. To say that it was a resounding success would be a massive understatement. We were at full capacity with 9 participants…and every single one of them set a new weightlifting PR!
But even more so than the weight lifted, the consistency with their lifts improved dramatically. If you recall from my original post introducing this course, our goal was:

“The focus here will be on building motor patterns through deliberate repetition. As I’m sure you’ve heard – “Practice makes permanent.” We want that ‘permanent’ to be sound, efficient, and safe technique. And we want to see you set some new PRs!”

Those numbers are in kilos!
Those numbers are in kilos!

I’d say we met that goal. But don’t take my word for it, here is what some of the participants had to say:
“Last day of CFG Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting and I PR’d both Snatch and Clean & Jerk! Thanks coach Josh Martin for the instruction. Can’t wait for the gymnastics course next.  ‪#‎PR‬ ‪#‎CrossFitForGloryMembersOnly‬ ‪#‎CrossFit‬‪#‎AgeWontHoldMeBack‬ ‪#‎LovingLife‬ ”

  • Jeff Aubin

“The 6-wk Oly lifting course I was in culminated in a mock weightlifting meet this morning. I PR’d my snatch and clean & jerk!”

  • Jill Zweibelson

“I had such an awesome time in this class. Thank you Josh for such an amazing opportunity.”

  • Leigh-Ann Lowery

“My opinion, well where do we start? The programming was absolutely amazing, I learned far more in barbell club this time, than I did in multiple sessions last time. The structure and ideology of it was far superior. I was happy with the results, but then again you only get out what you put in. The fun natured people we did it with really added to it.”

  • Brandon Carver

“This was hands down the best class. It taught me proper technique and how to achieve it while having fun. I can say with 100% confidence this class made me a better lifter than I was before. Thx u Josh!!”

  • Kiran Challagali
