Dominating at FIFTY!! 2/25/13

Today is Mark James 50th Birthday. In light of that, “The Week That Was” will be posted tomorrow. For nearly the past year, Mark has told me exactly which WOD he wanted to celebrate his birthday with. Honestly though, I hesitate to post it because I don’t want people seeing it and freaking out…i.e. cherry picking and NOT showing up.
However, this is a HUGE deal that he would want something like this. Far too many times I interact with people that are much younger than him but choose to let their age be an excuse as to why they are no longer “in shape” or why this CrossFit stuff is just too hard for them. It’s easy to point to a young coach and say “well, when I was your age I was in great shape too. But you’ll see, when you get older it won’t be as easy and you too will put on weight and be out of shape.” You’re darn right it won’t be easy. I wouldn’t want it to. Nothing worth anything is easy! Have you ever seen Mark take it “easy” when he’s in the gym? Staying in shape is hard work and he’s a testament to what the human body is capable of if you just take care of it the way it’s designed to be taken care of.
Ok, I’m off the soap-box.
I encourage ALL of you to come to the gym and celebrate with Mark in going through this WOD…it’s a GREAT one!
