Today was the first day that I had a chance to sit back and really take in the pure “fan” experience at the Games. Vendor village was open and rocking, the crowd was WAY bigger, and we’d get a chance to not only see the teams but the individual competitors do their thing.
Don’t get me wrong, its a BLAST to be under the gun as a coach when you’ve got an athlete competing on the worlds highest stage, but I LOVE CrossFit – love to do it, love to coach it, and I love to watch it. So when I was asked by my housemates if I’d be going to the StubHub Center at 7am to watch more events kickoff (even after having gotten there at 6:45am every other day) or sleep in, I unquestionably said I’d be going to watch!
This whole experience thus far has given me a TON of new blog ideas to go along with the ones each of you have requested, so look out for those. Along with my recap of Jay’s incredible performance – I know you’re all dying to hear about the behind the scenes stuff…that is coming to. Truth be told, I’m pretty sure I spent much of the day today looking like a drained zombie – its been go go go and my body welcomed a break. Now I just need more sleep.
