For those that may not know it, CrossFit For Glory is a Christian owned and operated facility. Much like talking about politics or nutrition, religion is quite the hot-button topic, so we try our best not to come off as judgmental bible-thumping fools. With that being said, as owners and coaches, we try to conduct ourselves in a respectable manner. Our ultimate goal is to make everyone’s time here productive and enjoyable. However, over the last couple of weeks, I’ve noticed a trend where some people have become a bit too loose-lipped with the dropping of f-bombs and the like. That’s not who we are, we’re better than that.
We don’t shortchange our reps.
We don’t shortchange our range of motion.
We don’t shortchange our effort.
So don’t shortchange your intelligence.
Look, I’m not the cursing police, nor do I want to be. I’ve been guilty of letting the expletives fly at times too, but I make darn sure to set a good example when I’m on (or off) the coaching floor. While I do realize that most of us are adults, there are still young kids around quite often, and frankly even some adults just don’t want to hear that kind of language all the time. So, find other words to make your sentences colorful.
If you wouldn’t say it in front of your grandma or young kids, then you probably should leave it out here too. If you don’t like that, too bad.
In the words of my good friend Ron Burgundy: “Stay Classy, CrossFit For Glory.”
