In case you didn’t notice, Karen Newsome was absent from class on Thursday morning. Why, you ask? Her husband Jim…well, let’s let her tell the story:
“Jim will be racing on October 26 in the Duathlon National Championship (standard distance 5K, 35K, 5K) in Tucson, Arizona. Jim is chasing a dream of his to qualify for Team USA and race with them in the Duathlon World Championship (standard distance) next year in Spain.”
He is racing for a spot on TEAM USA – how cool is that?! For those of you that live in FishHawk, I have no doubt in my mind that you have passed Jim training at some point either riding his bike or running. The man is a machine. She posted a photo of his training plan (see below) and it made me giggle because it reminded me of how I plan out your torture…er, WODs. Please say your prayers and send good vibes out west to Arizona that Jim do GREAT; Team USA would be lucky to have him on their squad.
