An Abundance of Thanks and Opening Day Recap

I want to take this time and send out a few thank you’s. Then, I’ll recap our Grand Opening from this past Saturday.
First and foremost, I’d like to thank God, without whom none of this would be possible. Next, I’d like to thank my absolutely stunningly beautiful and pregnant wife Mandy. I couldn’t have done ANY of this without you. You helped out in more ways than you will ever know and I owe you big time! Thank you to my parents for all the help and support you have provided me, not only with this new venture, but throughout my life. Gram, thanks for helping out with all that you did…and though they were about all gone by the time I got to them, the cookies were great! Thank you to all my fellow CrossFitters who helped me get to this point. I learned a wealth of knowledge from all of you. You also helped me push through limits in my training and taught me what it is to be an awesome CrossFitter. Thank you to Whitney Colburn for designing our logo…I’m sorry I put you through like 500 revisions…but it was worth it cause it’s perfect! Thank you to Dan Palmer for helping out with the shirts…hopefully we’ll sell out ASAP (hint, hint) so I can put in a new order! Thank you to Paul’s Custom Trim and Finish work for helping me immensely with the framing and woodwork…I feel like I could put up a house after working with you! Thank you to Chris and Jay Marier for helping with the website and all the electrical with the building…we’d be stuck in the stone-age without you two!
And last, but certainly not least, thank all of you who came and were a part of this…it really means the world to me that I got to share this moment with all of you! As for the Grand Opening, it was a huge success. We had such a great turnout and had great participation during the free workout demos from so many people that had NEVER done CrossFit before. As a matter of fact, I think there were only TWO people who had experience with CrossFit before giving it a shot on Saturday. I am so proud of all of you. It put such a huge smile on my face to hear people saying “I can’t wait to tell my friends about this” as they were leaving the gym. I got to see some friends that I hadn’t seen in a while – so thanks to you guys and girls who came out to support us.
A huge shout-out goes to the Newsome High School baseball team for a tremendous showing for the day. We had quite a few competitive heats amongst fellow teammates. For those that are CrossFitters already, you know what fun it is when a whole group of people is getting after it!
